Clear aligners like Invisalign® are effective and discreet orthodontic treatment options that are worn comfortably over your teeth to continuously adjust alignment and spacing. Invisalign® aligners are custom-made using models of both your current teeth and the end result you hope to achieve. With clear aligners, you will switch to new aligners about every two weeks with each set shifting the teeth slightly—this continues until you have achieved your final results, which usually takes anywhere from 6 months to two years.
Dr. Drew is a Gold+ Invisalign® Provider, which is a prestigious standard based on the number of successful cases that Dr. Drew has accomplished with Invisalign. Call us today at Drew Family Dentistry to see if Invisalign® is right for you.

How does the Invisalign® process work?
First, we will take photos of your teeth and face, dental impressions of your teeth, and x-rays. These records will be sent to Invisalign® along with detailed instructions on how we want your teeth to look at the end of the treatment. Invisalign® will scan the impressions to create a 3D model of your teeth and work closely with your dentist to ensure the molds are accurate. After finalizing the molds, the custom-made trays will be produced and sent to your dentist’s office. You will wear a set of trays for two weeks at a time, for about two years, or the length of time determined by your dentist.

Invisalign® vs. braces—what's the difference?
Invisalign® aligners and braces are options for straightening teeth, but they have several key differences. Ultimately, the decision is up to you, but introducing clear aligners to the market introduced a more efficient, less painful way to straighten teeth.
- Materials. Invisalign® aligners are clear transparent plastic, while braces contain wires and brackets.
- Removability. The user can remove Invisalign® aligners anytime, while a professional can only remove braces.
- Food Restrictions. Invisalign® allows users to eat whatever they like without changing their oral care habits, while braces require special maintenance and care and limit what the user can safely eat.
- Injury Risks. Invisalign® aligners do not pose any injury risks, while braces can cause cuts and other injuries.
- Visibility. Invisalign® aligners are barely noticeable to others, while braces are difficult to miss.
-
How much does Invisalign® cost?
The cost of Invisalign® aligners is similar to that of metal braces. However, the price can vary depending on factors such as insurance coverage and the length/complexity of treatment.
- Insurance coverage. Most insurance plans cover Invisalign® aligners just as they cover metal braces. But, it is rare for insurance to cover Invisalign® aligners for purely cosmetic reasons. Every case is unique, so you should verify with your insurance company to know what they will cover.
- Length/complexity of treatment. With Invisalign®, you receive new clear aligners every couple of weeks. Thus, the cost may vary depending on whether your treatment requires more (or fewer) aligners.
If you have any financial questions, don’t hesitate to contact our office, and we will be happy to discuss your insurance coverage or additional payment options.

Who can use clear aligners?
Many teens and adults who need mild to moderate orthodontic corrections can benefit from clear aligners. This includes individuals with crooked or misaligned teeth and noticeable spacing issues. Invisalign® can also be helpful for patients who have minor bite problems. However, it’s important to note that not all orthodontic issues can be treated with Invisalign®.
